The ECO DRY provides improved air quality, increased refrigeration efficiency and added "no cost" heating for the arena.
The Three-Fold ECO DRY System:
- Ventilation unit: The ECO Dry uses the outdoor air to improve the indoor ice rink environment
- Heating unit: The ECO Dry uses the warm glycol to heat the arena
- Dehumidification and cooling system: The ECO Dry utilizes the CIMCO Ice Battery’s cold glycol for dehumidification and cooling.
Outside Air Conditions
The ECO DRY uses outdoor air to improve the environment inside, and effectively controls temperature and humidity levels for optimal air quality, ice quality, and comfort, no matter the outside air conditions.

At night during the ice-making process, the ECO DRY system uses the excess heat to warm the building, while during the day it dehumidifies the arena with the stored ice from the Ice Battery. This provides free overnight building heat, while shifting the energy consumed for dehumidification to the night-time when rates can be significantly lower than day-time rates.
